4 Reasons You Aren't Feeling a Sense of Growth in Your Healing Process
Apr 19, 2020When you are wanting to change old behaviors and make positive changes, you have to make this critical shift. You have to switch from a victim mindset to an empowered mindset. By staying in the Victim mentality, you tend to block your chances of success.
I totally get it and why you feel bad for yourself. When you have a backstory that includes pain, sadness, and trauma; there's a part you that feels safe in holding onto that narrative until you're ready to move forward.
So how do you do this?
How do you shift out of victim mode so you can allow the healing and success you want in your life?
1) Gratitude
Start being thankful for everything you already have. You are doing REALLY well in life. You already have so much more than most, and that's important.
2) Work on Yourself
Spend time in mindfulness (i.e. prayer, meditation, journaling, affirmations), and educate yourself in the areas where you want to experience personal breakthroughs. Books are your friends.
3) Do Something About It
Take a step forward each day that you're breathing. You have to take action and actually start working on your attitude, mindset and things within your control.
4) Stop Feeling Sorry for Yourself
It’s totally ok for you to feel sad or disappointed about something. Feel the feelings, cry, or forgive, if necessary. Then stand up tall and move forward. Don't judge your emotions, just be curious about why they came up and what you can learn from them.
